The challenge

When a fast‑growing women’s‑wear brand saw traffic surge but sales stall, they asked me to diagnose the leak. Heat‑maps, funnel analytics, and rapid customer interviews revealed an ironic pattern: shoppers adored the clothes yet abandoned carts at the final click—largely because sizing guidance felt vague and the checkout flow looked dated on mobile. Armed with those insights, I mapped a three‑week sprint that re‑designed the product page hierarchy, introduced an interactive “Find Your Fit” widget, and rebuilt the cart in a single responsive layout.

The process

To validate every idea, I lined up seventeen tightly scoped A/B tests. We trialed alternate thumbnail grids, re‑sequenced social‑proof cues, and split‑tested headline micro‑copy that spoke to style aspirations rather than discounts. The biggest unlock came from re‑engineering the size‑selector: moving it above the fold and pairing it with a concise, Apple‑style modal boosted add‑to‑bag clicks by 101 %. Each experiment fed an iterative design loop—launch at noon, review at midnight, refine by morning—so the site evolved in real time with live customers, not behind a staging curtain.

The results

The compounding lift was dramatic: conversion jumped 284.2 % over baseline, translating to an estimated $393 K in incremental annual revenue—without a single extra marketing dollar. Equally valuable, the client’s team adopted a culture of evidence‑based design; our A/B‑testing playbook is now their default launch ritual. For a label built on confidence and fit, the new experience finally mirrors the promise of the clothes themselves—and lets the numbers wear the crown.
